Cricket Grows with Tape-ball at West of Scotland

4 months ago By David Hinchliffe

Indoor tape-ball cricket games for the long winter nights.

McCrea West of Scotland's crusade to grow the game continues with a new tape ball night.

The informal event, organised by Blaal Hussain, sees high intensity and fun cricket played in a small court with special rules. The venue is the sports hall at picturesque Western Baths Club.

Interest from members has been high already, and there has been the addition of non-members who are also welcome to play the pickup game every Sunday.

The club encourages anyone interested in playing a fun indoor game to get in contact for details. It hones your hitting, catching and throwing skills alongside being the most fun you can have in a sports hall!

Tape-ball is an informal format traditionally played in the streets and spaces of Pakistan and India with a tennis ball taped with electrical tape for more swing. It requires very little equipment and is easy to both learn and play for everyone.
