The Toughest Job in Cricket?

9 months ago By David Hinchliffe

Huge thanks John, Stewart and everyone who helped on the ground this summer.

Being a cricket groundsman in Glasgow must be one of the toughest jobs in sport! That’s why everyone at West want to give the highest praise to both Stewart Dunlop and John “JR” Thomson for their efforts on the ground this year.

The pair went way above and beyond expectations to battle the elements, the demands of eight different teams (and several guest sides), and a temperamental mower! Somehow they did it all with a smile and a chat even in the worst of situations.

The club know about and appreciate every person who helped with the ground this year. There’s no doubt that the highest praise should also be heaped on the guys who did the most work: Thanks John. Thanks Stewart!
