Well done, Jim a superb effort.

  • Cam Battersby - formerly WSCC in 60s and OZ Team Manager in 1994
    06 October 2011 - 19:01:17
Richard Jones has let me know that big Cam Battersby, who played for West in the 60s as an off spinner, has died at the age of 76.
Not too many of you will remember Cam but he was a very popular of member of West while he was in UK and he was another who took West all round the world of cricket. He was team manager of Australia's historic tour of South Africa in 1994 and also managed tours to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India and new Zealand.
Cam was a doctor who was awarded a "Member of the Order of Australia" (AM) for services to medicine and for his services in cricket administration.
We are sorry to hear about his passing but pleased to have known him, even if it was nearly 40 years ago.

  • RBS Community Force
    22 September 2011 - 00:22:53
We plan to apply for £6000 to help the club pay for an artificial strip in the square.

If the players and members can help with adding images, videos, and messages of support on twitter and facebook and we can use them as evidence for the RBS to see that we play cricket and would like to encourage the game to be played at the club then so much the better.

  • Jonny Graham's "9 in a row" Partick
    03 September 2011 - 23:29:44
Partick beat Glenpark by 34 runs at Hamilton Crescent this afternoon in the final match of the 2011 SNCL Reserve League. This was their ninth win on the trot in this League and congratulations are due for an excellent sequence of results.

Partick scored 172 all out in this reduced 42 overs a side game. Jats scored 76 before being brilliantly caught one handed on the boundary. He shared a 3rd wicket partnership of 116 with Ross Brown who scored 51.

Glenpark got off to a steady start with opener and Club President Peter Hempsey defying the home bowlers for around 20 overs. They eventually were bowled out for 138. A smart stumping from Ross Brown and 4 wickets from a jug dodging Cammy were the highlights of the Partick efforts after tea.

Tomorrow's match against Western Cricket Academy is off so Season 2011 is at an end for Partick - and for the three West Senior teams.

Don't forget the Players Meeting at 7pm on Monday evening.
