The Forecast: Killie Begin Season’s Final Push

The Forecast will be our series of weekend previews for the 2025 season. We hope to cover team selection, form, fixtures and who to look out for in the weekend’s fixtures! We hope to not have to cover the rain!

With just three weeks left of the league season there is plenty to play for.

Saturday

West of Scotland XI vs Kilmarnock

Western Premiership Two leaders West of Scotland host Kilmarnock at Hamilton Crescent, looking to cement their position at the top of the tree. Kilmarnock are fourth in the league having won six of their ten completed fixtures in 2025. Kilmarnock come to Hamilton Crescent on the back of four low scoring games - having bowled out Glasgow Accies for 62 and completing a six wicket victory last time out. The Ayrshire club boast two of the top 10 bowlers in the league with opener Tom McFadzean and Daniel Lombard having taken all of the Accies wickets between them last Saturday. First ball at 12pm.

St Ninian’s vs Partick XI

The Partick XI, meanwhile, make the long trip to Prestwick to face midtable St Ninian’s. Johnny Williams’ side will look to captialise on their recent good form, including victory at Albert Park last weekend, and put pressure on traditiona rivals and league leaders Titwood. The hosts will be looking for some form of their own coming into this one, having lost three matches on the spin, including a 134 run defeat at Langloan last time out. Richard Bartsch is likely to be their dangerman with the bat, having scored 250 runs this season, whilst Gregor Cunningham has 15 wickets to his name.

Hamilton Crescent XI vs GHK

Our 3rd string host promotion chasing GHK Strathclyde in Stirling in what promises to be a tricky encounter. Hamilton Crescent were beaten by league leaders Anniesland last time out and these sides have yet to face each other this season due to rain on matchday 7 back in June. GHK Strathclyde have the two top scoring batsman in their ranks with Ahmed Ifthikar and Sufian Ali having scored more than 600 league runs between them, so Hamilton Crescent will need to be at their best to remove them early.

Sunday

Hillhead v West of Scotland XI

Our Sunday XI visit familiar surroundings with another friendly at Hillhead this weekend. This is the third game between the sides this season with two wins notched up for our side so far - including a final over victory back in June.
