The Forecast: Langide home and away for top two senior sides.
The Forecast will be our series of weekend previews for the 2025 season. We hope to cover team selection, form, fixtures and who to look out for in the weekend’s fixtures! We hope to not have to cover the rain!
A full slate of fixtures this weekend as all five teams are in action - fingers crossed the weather plays ball this time!
West of Scotland XI vs Langside
Langside’s 1XI make the trip to Hamilton Crescent, while our Partick XI head in the opposite direction for a southside showdown. James Fennah will be hoping to finally make his 50-over season debut, after last weekend’s Premiership 2 washout.
Langside arrive with one win from three but are rarely an easy opponent - skillful spin, big hitters, and a knack for scrapping in tight games. West’s XI looks settled this week, with no unexpected changes and a growing sense of rhythm. A good chance to build momentum at home.
Albert Park vs Partick XI
Always a tricky place to visit, Albert Park are tough opponents on their own turf. Partick XI sit 4th in the table with a 70% win percentage, looking to close the gap on league leaders Titwood (78%).
With Williams unavailable, Chris Ross takes the reins and welcomes back Laurie Kitchen - a timely boost for the bowling attack. A win here would send a message to the top of the table.
Hamilton Crescent XI vs Anniesland
The third Saturday fixture sees the Hamilton Crescent XI take on Anniesland at New Williamfield. Moosa Vakil continues as captain with Alex Dunn set to make his Saturday debut. Another opportunity for the side to build on early-season cohesion.
East Kilbride vs Women’s 1XI
Still searching for that elusive first win, West’s Women’s 1XI have a good chance this Sunday as they welcome East Kilbride. The team may be 0 from 4, but last week’s showing against Grange was packed with positives - skipper Nadia Tolliday will want more of the same.
Game starts at 1pm - come along and show your support!
Women’s 2XI vs Stenhousemuir
The Challenger League continues with the Women’s 2XI hosting Stenhousemuir - familiar opponents and the side West got their first win against earlier in the season. Can they do the same again?
