The Forecast: Partick prepare for top of the table clash
The Forecast will be our series of weekend previews for the 2025 season. We hope to cover team selection, form, fixtures and who to look out for in the weekend’s fixtures! We hope to not have to cover the rain!
Three more massive league games for our senior sides this weekend as they look to carry momentum into the season’s run-in.
Saturday
West of Scotland XI vs Greenock
At Hamilton Crescent, James Fennah’s side host Greenock hoping to build on recent wins. Greenock sit 5th in Western Premiership Two with an inconsistent record of three victories and three defeats so far this season. West chased down over 200 at Glenpark earlier this season and will go into the game with confidence that they can add to their recent run. Keeper Callum Henry is expected to be the dangerman for the Inverclyde side, teeing off with 403 runs already under his belt this season - more than anyone in the division. Kick off at 12pm.
Titwood v Partick XI
Glasgow’s southside hosts a huge game at the top of Western Championship One as Partick face traditional title rivals Titwood. Last season’s top two sides at this level will kick off in 2nd and 3rd, behind Whitehaugh, but both will be looking to try and push on towards a title berth with just six weeks of the season remaining. Back in May Partick were the victors by four wickets at Hamilton Crescent, but TItwood always present stern opposition especially on their own patch. Wasim Qureishi will want to cement his good form with the bat for Titwood whilst Aaban Rashid averages under 20 with the ball.
The Tryst vs Hamilton Crescent XI
Our third side will be looking to bounce back after a heavy home defeat to Renfrew 2s last weekend with a visit to Stenhousemuir to take on their second eleven. Moosa Vakil’s side currently sit seventh in the table after inconsistent form throughout the season whilst The Tryst sit above them in 5th. The hosts ran out two wicket victors in the previous meeting between the sides back in May, so Hamilton Crescent will be looking for revenge.
