The Forecast: Stirling County visit Hamilton Crescent
The Forecast will be our series of weekend previews for the 2025 season. We hope to cover team selection, form, fixtures and who to look out for in the weekend’s fixtures! We hope to not have to cover the rain!
After three wins last Saturday, our senior sides set out to build on their success with three tricky fixtures.
Saturday
West of Scotland XI vs Stirling County
WIth both sides looking to bounce back into Western Premiership One, Saturday’s game at Hamilton Crescent looks competitive. Stirling visit Glasgow on the back of a home defeat to Renfrew and sit fourth in the table. Meanwhile, James Fennah’s team will look to add to four straight league wins. First ball at 12pm.
Williamfield vs Partick XI
The second string complete the reverse fixture as they visit Williamfield in Stirling. Captain Johnny Williams returns for Partick after a trip to Leeds for the Test Match curtailed his involvement last weekend. Williamfield will be looking to take advantage of home comforts having only recorded one win in four games so far sitting eighth in the table.
Torrance House vs Hamilton Crescent XI
In Western Championship Two, our 3s visit East Kilbride to face Torrance House with both teams sitting in midtable. Captain Moosa Vakhil will look to build on last week’s 20 run victory at home to Marress, whilst East Kilbride’s seconds will be looking to bounce back from a tight defeat away to league leaders Nunholm.
Sunday
Murrayfield DAFS Women vs Womens XI
In the final scheduled fixture of Cricket Scotland Women's Premier League, West of Scotland’s Women’s XI visit Edinburgh to take on Murrayfield DAFS Women. The home side go into the game bottom of the table, so captain Nadia Tolliday will go into the game with confidence as her side looks to bounce back from a defeat at Watsonians/Dumfries last weekend.
Sunday XI vs Hillhead
Meanwhile our Sunday XI will play their first home game of the season as they take on Hillhead at Hamilton Crescent. This local derby threw up a final over finish at Hughenden earlier in the month, so a tight affair could be in order! First ball at 1pm.
