The Forecast: we try again with the Scottish Cup!
The Forecast will be our series of weekend previews for the 2025 season. We hope to cover team selection, form, fixtures and who to look out for in the weekend’s fixtures! We hope to not have to cover the rain!
After a much drier week, the weather looks less promising heading into the weekend. But with seven fixtures on the cards, there’s plenty to look forward to.
Saturday
Kilmarnock vs West of Scotland XI
The 1XI travel to Kilmarnock as we approach the halfway stage of the season. The home side sit 4th with two wins from three and 66% of the points available. With a top score of 294 this year, their batting is a real threat. Fennah will back his deep lineup to respond with runs of their own.
Partick XI vs St Ninians
The second string are back at home, hosting Prestwick’s St Ninians. One win from four sees the visitors sitting in the relegation zone, but they’ve pushed teams close in the past. With plenty of batting options, Williams will be looking to take control early.
GHK vs Hamilton Crescent XI
Just across the road for this one. The Hamilton Crescent XI take on GHK in what’s always a competitive fixture. Moosa Vakil leads the side again and is keen to keep building momentum.
Sunday
West of Scotland XI vs Heriots
Third time lucky? After two washouts, the Scottish Cup tie against Heriot’s is set to go ahead. No one wants to see another coin toss decide this one. First ball at 12pm.
Grampian Thistles vs Womens XI
A huge boost last weekend as the Women’s 1XI picked up their first win of the season. Tolliday will be looking for more from the top order and another solid performance in the field.
East Kilbride vs Women’s 2XI
Just like the 1XI, the Women’s 2XI are coming off their first win and head to East Kilbride with plenty of belief. They’ll be hoping to make it two in a row.
