Welcome

Welcome to the new West of Scotland Cricket Club website. We are delighted to be back and I must congratulate Jatinder Singh on the outstanding work he has carried out during the last few months to bring this website to you.

The aim of this website is to bring you as much information about all our teams and club functions and events as quickly as we can. We also want to use this website to support our sponsors and highlight their services and I am delighted to confirm that McCrea Financial Services Ltd will again be West's main sponsor in 2010. West will again play as McCrea FS West.

Please bear with us as we continue to add to the website over the coming weeks and months and I look forward to welcoming everyone to Hamilton Crescent for Season 2010 which is approaching very quickly.

Race Night - Friday April 23rd
08 March 2010 - 13:41:34
The Players Committee are delighted to announce the annual Race Night which will be held in the clubhouse on Friday, 23rd April 2010 at 7.30 for 8 pm.

Thanks to the generosity of the members and friend’s, last year’s event raised over £1,000. We again hope that this year can be an equally successful night and we can help to boost the clubs finances and aid the continued development of the clubs facilities and services (and what better way to do so than by some drinking and gambling)!

The Race Night will comprise the traditional 8 races with 8 runners in each race. Once again we are looking to the members and/or their contacts to sponsor races, donate prizes and of course buy up the horses. The pricing structure is shown on the attached page.

The deadline for submission and details of race sponsors, prize donors and horse owners will be 16th April in order to allow sufficient time to prepare and finalise the programme for printing.

Entrance on the night will cost £2, for which you will receive a full programme of the night’s races.
Horses will be for sale in the Clubhouse or contact us via email at parahandy@aol.com with the name of your horse(s) and the money, priced at £3.00 each.

Recent Race Nights have proved popular, and the busier it is the better the atmosphere, so please come along and bring guests to enjoy the entertainment. It also marks the beginning of the season at Hamilton Crescent so it should be a great night culminating with the Auction Race!

We hope you can support the Club in this fundraising effort, in the meantime we look forward to hearing from you.

URGENT - Player Registration
04 March 2010 - 14:26:09
We are making slow progress with completion of player registration and WDCU have set us a target of 19th March.

Completed forms are dribbling back to me and we held a photoshoot at training on Tuesday evening so we now have a few completed records.

It is important we address this with some urgency.

We will hold another photo session in the Club next Tuesday (9th March) from 6pm. Please make every effort to attend. I’ll be there with Reg Forms for those who have not yet completed theirs. Please note we only need photos of players 18 or over. However, Juniors must still complete the form if they want to play any senior cricket this season.

For those who can’t be there on Tuesday, contact me for a copy of the form. Please complete it and send it back to me straightaway.
If you can’t make Tuesday, we need to make other arrangements for a Photo.
If you will be at practice on any other evening next week, let me know and either I or Adam will attend and take photo.
If you will not be there in next week or so, please get a friend or colleague to take a photo (in electronic form) of you. Just a full face shot as though it was a passport photo.
If using a digital camera, download photo to your pc and email to me. If using mobile phone, send me the photo as a picture message.

I’d be grateful if you’d deal with this as a matter of urgency. If we can’t register you, you can’t play.
